The Knutson Greenhouse

In this major construction project, students participated in the design and construction of a passive solar, timber-framed, strawbale greenhouse. Students were involved in every stage, from pouring of the foundation and joining of the timbers to the installation of the strawbale walls and roof. In the process, they learned the principles and techniques of sustainable construction first hand, while experiencing the joy of working as a team to achieve a shared goal.
