Farm Development

Starting with an old horse pasture and barn, hundreds of students contributed to help build a living laboratory of regenerative agriculture. Students rennovated the barn into a classroom and work area, retrofitted the horse stalls into a 50 bird chicken coop, broke ground to establish 15,000 sq ft of growing area, laid the irrigation systems, and constructed a 3000 sq foot high tunnel to allow us to grow fresh vegetables year round.

Once our high tunnel was complete, our student construction team offered its skilled labort to members of the Los de Mora Growers Cooperative - travelling to Mora and Buena Vista to build two additional high tunnels funded by the USDA EQUIP program, significantly expanding local food production in San Miguel and Mora county.
