No Más Muertes Expeditions

On these expeditions, students traveled to the U.S.–Mexico border region to work alongside No Más Muertes, an internationally recognized humanitarian organization based in southern Arizona. Through this partnership, students supported efforts to provide food, water, and medical aid to migrants crossing the Sonoran Desert. Students also learned about U.S. border policy, walked migrant trails, distributed water supplies, and participated in desert clean-up efforts.

In addition to fieldwork, the groups visited a federal immigration courtroom, where students met with immigration attorneys to learn about the asylum process and observed deportation proceedings firsthand. Together, these experiences helped students develop a grounded understanding of the human, legal, and environmental dimensions of migration and border policy.
